Boathouse, Lakipia

Lake side self-catering one bedroom cottage with a view of Mt Kenya. Sat within the 360 acres electric fenced land of Mukima House. Light, spacious and homey little nook. Perfect for a peaceful, romanitc escapes on the foot hills of Mt Kenya. Very close to 5 famous wildlife conservancies for game drives and day trips. Only 15 minutes drive from Nanyuki town with shops, cafe’s and restaurants a plenty. Walks, row boats, wildlife and birds right from your doorstep. A little slice of heaven.

The space

This is a very peaceful getaway. Private bridge leads you to your own sanctuary on the Mukima Dam. The Boathouse sits on the 360 private acres of Mukima House. Mukima House is a large family home, also for rent on the property with it’s own private gardens. The Lake House also has it’s own private garden, garage and access.

Guest access

You will be able to access the 300 acres of Mukima Estate. The only area that will be off limits is the private gardens, pool and tennis court of the main house. There is a beautiful wooden bridge to access the Boathouse and a private garage. You are welcome to row on the dam, walk through our forests. The bird watching is incredible and buck are often seen drinking from the dam.

Interaction with guests

You will have the Boathouse all to yourself. We do have staff on call for any emergencies or questions at the main house. They will welcome you and show you the Boathouse on arrival. This is a self-catering house.

Rate

The Boat House rent out at $200 USD per night with a two-night minimum. This is for self-catered accommodation. If you would like Full Board please contact us.
