Lengishu, Lakipia

Lengishu is an exclusive use family home found at the centre of Borana Conservancy, Kenya’s newest and most successful rhino sanctuary. The house boasts uninterrupted views of the Lengishu hills, the Lewa-Borana landscape and deep into the Northern Frontier. With an arid landscape to the North and ancient indigenous forests surrounding Mount Kenya in the South, Borana Conservancy is a convergence of  habitats where a variety of wildlife thrive.

The main house forms the focal point of Lengishu with vaulted ceilings and large inviting replaces. Four cottages are arranged along the hillside, each elegantly furnished with unique style and character. Accommodating up to twelve guests, this private home is perfect for large family gatherings and groups of friends.

There are a wide range of activities to enjoy from the comfort of Lengishu. Cool of in the heat of the day with a dip in the infinity pool or try your hand at pétanque. With a well equipped gym, billiard table, darts board, in house private masseuse and a walk-to private sun-downer spot, the only struggle is deciding what to do first.

Lengishu is located on Borana Conservancy allowing guests to take part in a wide range of activities. Whether it’s freewheeling on a mountain bike, tracking rhino on foot at first light, or galloping through a herd of zebra on horse back, these are experiences which are not easily forgotten. In addition there are the traditional safari activities such as guided bush walks, game drives, bird watching and freshly cooked meals in the bush.

Lengishu offers the perfect base for adventures further a field. Fish for trout on the high altitude lakes of Mt Kenya, visit a community run elephant orphanage and race down sand rivers on quad bikes.
